Privacy Notice

This notice covers the tungstenedge.app website and the Tungsten Edge app for macOS. Your personal data is handled by Suzhou Mubai Creativity Design Co., Ltd. (“we”), reachable at [email protected]. We never sell your data, and we never use it for unrelated advertising.

The app itself

Tungsten Edge does not automatically upload usage data or telemetry. The window information it reads to show your windows is used only on your Mac. The app contacts this website only when it checks for updates (counted only in an aggregate total; see “Usage statistics” below), and when you choose to subscribe, send feedback or recover a license key, in which case it sends what you entered.

What we store and why

• Subscriptions: your email address, where you subscribed (the website or the app), for submissions from the app the date of first launch (to the day only), interface language, and confirmation, unsubscribe, bounce and complaint status. Used to confirm your subscription, identify founding-user entitlements, send your license and send infrequent product updates.
• Purchases and license keys: your email address, order number and the payment provider’s customer identifier, amount and currency, your license key, and records of issuing and emailing it. Used to issue, deliver and recover license keys and to handle refunds and support.
• Feedback and support email: what you send through the in-app Feedback form (your message, the optional contact you enter, app and macOS versions, interface language and any attachments), and email sent to [email protected] (sender address, subject, body and attachment names). Used to improve the product and reply to you.
• Abuse prevention: to limit malicious requests we process the IP address of each request, but store only a keyed hash and rate-limit counters, never the raw IP. Human verification on website forms passes your IP address to Cloudflare Turnstile. Support email has no IP address, so a keyed hash of the sender address is used instead.

Legal bases: product-update emails rely on your consent, which you withdraw by unsubscribing. Fulfilling confirmed founding-user entitlements, purchases, license delivery and related support relies on performing the relevant agreement. We handle feedback and inquiries, prevent abuse and keep necessary records after you unsubscribe in order to respond to you, improve the product, protect the service and avoid emailing you by mistake; where EU or UK data protection law applies, these activities rely on our legitimate interests. Accounting and tax records required by law rely on legal obligations.

Payments

Orders placed through Paddle checkout on tungstenedge.app, on its Chinese and English purchase pages alike, are processed by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record, which handles payment, sales tax and invoices. Your card or other payment details are entered in Paddle’s checkout and never reach us. From Paddle we receive your email address, order number and customer identifier, and the amount and currency paid. The checkout window on the purchase page is provided by Paddle and may set its own cookies to complete the payment; see Paddle’s privacy policy for how Paddle handles your data. For orders on tungstenedge.cn paid with WeChat Pay or Alipay, we receive the order number and payment status from the payment provider, plus the email address you enter to receive your license key.

Who processes this data

• Cloudflare: hosts the website, stores subscription, order, license and feedback records (D1) and feedback attachments (R2), provides human verification (Turnstile), and receives and forwards email sent to [email protected], including attachments, through Email Routing. Privacy policy
• Resend: sends confirmation email, license email, product updates, feedback notifications and support replies, processing email addresses, message content and delivery records for that. Feedback notifications include the message, contact details, version information, language and attachment names, but not the attachment files. Privacy policy
• Google (Gmail): receives email sent to [email protected] and feedback notifications. Privacy policy
• Paddle: processes payment for orders on tungstenedge.app. Privacy policy
• WeChat Pay and Alipay: process payment for orders on tungstenedge.cn.

They process the data only as far as providing those services requires. Apart from WeChat Pay and Alipay, these providers process data outside mainland China (mainly in the United States and the United Kingdom). How each of them handles the data, and how you can exercise your rights with them, is set out in their privacy policies linked above; you can also contact us and we will help.

How long we keep it

• Subscription records: until you ask us to delete them. Unsubscribing stops updates but keeps the record, so we don’t email you by mistake and your confirmed founding-user entitlement stays in place.
• Order and license records: for as long as the license can be used, and for the period accounting and tax rules require.
• Feedback text and support email: until you ask us to delete them, or until they are no longer needed.
• Feedback attachments: the copy in a private Cloudflare R2 bucket is deleted automatically after 90 days. Copies downloaded to review your feedback, and attachments sent by email, are not covered by that rule; contact us to have them deleted.
• Rate-limit records: expire two window lengths after their window starts and are then removed when later requests trigger cleanup. IP or sender-address hashes stored with feedback follow the retention rules for feedback records.

Usage statistics

This website uses cookie-free statistics that do not record IP addresses: short links (/go/…) and the download link only increment aggregate counters on the server — how many times a channel was opened on a given day, how many times a version was downloaded, and nothing else. Your IP address, browser details and referring page are not recorded, and no field can be traced back to an individual.

Language preference

This website matches you to the Chinese or English version of the home page using your browser language and region. Once you switch language yourself with the control at the top right, that choice is stored in a cookie named te_lang, whose value is only ever zh or en and which expires after one year. It is used solely to open the right version for you next time; it is not used for statistics, does not record who you are, and does not track you across sites. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, unsubscribe at any time (withdrawing consent), and object to how we process it. Contact [email protected] and we will reply as soon as we can. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
